Also I don't have dhcpcd package installed and cant install it since I dont hace any connection. The disadvantage of NAT mode is that, much like a private network behind a router, the virtual machine is invisible and unreachable from the outside internet. This separation maximizes security since by default virtual machines cannot talk to each other. ip addr shows that apperantly i have no ip address! Added one using 'ip addr add' as shown in the wiki, didn't worked. In Oracle VM VirtualBox this router is placed between each virtual machine and the host. Tried looking online, in the arch wiki etc. Pinging 8.8.8.8 results in an error saying "Network is unreachae". Pinging results in "Temporay failure in name resolution", so I checked connection ti the dns server. Great! But, there is 1 big problem: Now, I have no internet connection. I had internet connection on the install medium, everything worked perfectly.Īfter finishing the install, I rebooted the machine and chose to boot into "Existing OS", which led me to the grub and eventually into my new arch linux system. To not risk deleting my whole laptop, I decided to first install arch on a vm using VirtualBox.ĭownloaded the iso file, booted into the install medium, followed the installation guide closely and the only thing I did that wasn't on the guide is installing grub as mt bootloader. I've recentyl sarted the journey of being an arch linux user.
